Iβll pass that along. But I want to hear more about your specific reasons. Itβs certainly an interesting dataset to work with.
I will print copies of this post and distribute them to local libraries in person and mail them to other libraries
Also: the UNESCO library of Alexandria is @bibalexOfficial on X, we must campaign for them/any of their people to join nostr
You rang? It
ππππ are you a librarian?
I were. I don't work at the library anymore but it's in my blood. Lol.
Got you. Was it a library assistant position? Did they offer you any training if you wanted to become a librarian?
I suppose the situation will be different now and also across the pond. Just stuff I'm trying to work out over here lol
My official title was "Library Technician" because I had all of the same duties and responsibilities as folks that actually went to school for it without the degree. There was a point when they did almost 100% reimbursement for library science courses but too many folks abused it so they dropped it to like 50/50.
My only real advice is don't let them push you up the chain of command before you really understand what's going on at the circulation desk. I suppose that could be true in any job though. The higher ups forget what it was like to be a little person.
Well atm I can't even imagine getting the job at all, they are weirdly highly sought after AND badly paid jobs lol
