Salvadorans using Bitcoin for transactions down from 25.7% in 2021 to just 8% in 2024 and still declining (Instituto Universitario de Opinión Pública). That was the one place it gained actual real-life traction (versus token tourist-town traction, like in parts of Costa Rica, etc). Also use in China has cratered since the ban, obviously. Here's a good podcast with lots of numbers for sub-saharan Africa, showing bitcoin being displaced by stablecoins and decreasing overall: https://iono.fm/e/1508536
Bitcoin as MoE is not increasing notably anywhere in the world to make up for all the countries in which it's decreasing. Certainly not in the developed world. And in relative terms (versus stablecoins) it's being absolutely crushed.
If you want online then look no further than Lightning network volume vs. Tron volume, those numbers are easily searchable.
I love tron. Under rated movie… 🎥 🍿

And overall, I agree. Bitcoin is dead. Was fun while it lasted. 😕
It’s dead as a thing you use for everyday purchases. As a store of value (ie digital gold) it’s thriving.
Oh look at that, nuance!
Nahhhh. It’s dead as that too.
Haven’t you seen the price this last week/month?
Ethery-booby-poopy coin is the future!

Sorry! Your first message was so angry I couldn’t help but engage. Not a great personality trait of mine. Admittedly. 😔

Just tried zapping you. Hilarious that you haven’t set it up!!! 😆
I'm not here for bitcoin zaps. Or rather for my share of the teensy weensy $1,000 worth of zaps that get sent around Nostr every day, which is supposedly the largest online Bitcoin circular economy in the world.
I'm here for the relay tech, which, unlike the Bitcoin zaps, is very promising.
Relax son…it’s just a micro-thermodynamic way to appreciate someone’s contribution. Better than a heart 💓
But yes, not much better.
Everything is gonna be ok brotha. Trust that 🪬🧬
