Bitcoin thinks it's competing against other crypto for payments. It's {and all payment oriented crypto) is competing against Apple/Google pay, which is extremely easy to use, doesn't require learning about / trusting a new form of money, and once that battle is over, then learning about a variety of affordable payment methods (Lightning, Cashu / eCash, Fedimint, most of which have non-unique names), then having to choose which app is best. On top of all of this, these mechanisms dox the crypto 'holder' as then are generally not self custodial. NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR COINS!!!!
