Are you venting the refrigerant and destroying the ozone? Cool 😎
I wish it were that fun! I removed my gauges, and realized the valve had failed, so I slapped the gauges back on to stop the mess from spraying all over, and ordered this tool overnight. It lets me hot swap the valve without venting the refrigerant. I don’t really care about the refrigerant, it’s below the epa legal limit. What I do worry about is the compressor oil, which is basically the magic from the factory. It’s all guess work, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t lose enough to matter. 🤞

Under that brass tool is a plug that was slow leaking. It’s miserable, because if you don’t have that brass tool than you get to watch the system slowly drain itself. Miserable anticipation.
Luckily I had that tool, which allows me to hot swap the plug. No more bleeding to death. Now after a couple months, it’s as cold as it ever was.
