Anarcho-communism is a political philosophy that combines two main ideas: anarchism and communism. Here’s a simple breakdown:

1. Anarchism: This is the belief in a society without a centralized government or authority. Anarchists argue that hierarchies and imposed structures lead to oppression and inequality. They advocate for self-governed, voluntary associations where individuals cooperate freely without coercion.

2. Communism: This ideology seeks to establish a classless society where all property is collectively owned, meaning that resources and means of production are shared among the community rather than owned privately. The goal is to eliminate economic inequality and ensure that everyone has access to what they need.

Combining these two ideas, anarcho-communism envisions a society where people work together to manage resources and production without a state or hierarchical authority. Key principles include:

• Collective Ownership: Instead of private property, resources are owned collectively, and everyone has equal access to them.

• Voluntary Cooperation: People freely come together to form communities and make decisions without coercion or force.

• Direct Democracy: Decisions are made through direct participation and consensus rather than through representatives or bureaucratic systems.

• Mutual Aid: Emphasis is placed on supporting one another and working together for the common good.

In summary, anarcho-communism advocates for a stateless, classless society where individuals cooperate voluntarily to meet each other’s needs, promoting equality and freedom. #freedom #unify #powerincommunity #resilienceinsovereignty #news #philosophy #info #anarchy #democracy #trending

Even #socialism - much less #communism - has been proven to only function IRL through brutal coercion.

That's incompatible with #anarchy by definition.

It's like combining a bug screen door and a submarine.

There are very few examples from which to draw that statement. Socialism is not great. It is state controlled. All examples of communism (though maybe improperly referred to as communism) that are used for propaganda were state/fascist controlled. Revolutionary Catalonia is one of the few large examples of anarcho-communism. The two philosophies are not contradictory. I have been a part of many anarchistic/ anarcho communistic oriented happenings and they are fantastic, and fair. Anarcho-communism abolishes the state and removes any hierarchical structures. The company Tesla for example, would be owned by the people, no single person. The positive implications this has for society are inumerable.

For a short time, on individual or small group scale, sure can exist, the way subatomic particles exist in an atom collider for a moment.

Most individual interactions among us are anarchic and some are even communist.

On any larger scale, the local thug gangs that only want and know how to do violent, coercive activities, quickly figure out that they can own the local communes as their personal Animal Farm and live by milking them as parasites, simply by declaring themselves "government".

Under pretext of providing "protection" ( first of all FROM THEMSELVES) compensated through "taxes", for local, productive, peaceful, voluntary communes, was how practically all #state #government emerged, and always would under anarcho- communism model.

Humans are predators, even among ourselves!

this is not true. ignorance is predatory, humans are not. ignorance is also weak. what you described currently exists as "fruit" (inedible) of modern democracy. there has never been a large scale example of anarcho communism. we have never until now had the means of communication to achieve such. power is in community, and it only harms the "ill willed" to harm anyone else. the collective and individuals are perfectly able to defend themselves, if that ill presented. the saying goes: do no harm, but take no shit.

What you describe is wishful thinking.

Long before anything that could be called "democracy", armed gangs declared themselves " government " over large territories, effectively enslaving the local population to exploit it, simply because it was a viable way to make a rather plush living.

That's the reason neither anarcho-communism nor even proper communism has ever existed anywhere at scale.

what you described, is 100% what we currently have going on right now.
