Cool, but I use the zap button as a like button now. The algorithm is failing if it isn't accounting for people like me. It seems to me that the most valuable posts are the ones that generate actual value. Otherwise, you're just focusing on what a particular algorithm considers valuable. A like costs nothing. A zap costs something real.

You could get a million likes and it means less than a single 21 sat zap unless the post is leading to increased income in some other way. Zaps kind of complicate things here because it's possible for very few zappers to theoretically add more value than a lot more likers. And some people could do both. It's tough.

I'll take a million likes over a single 21 sat zap any day.

agree.

eyeballs are much more valuable for certain posts than the amount of Zaps it gets

All of this is super relative and dependent. I'd take 21 sats over one million bot likes or likes that lead to no other value generation. Value here isn't even possible to totally measure, which is why I said it's tough. Word of mouth, etc are all really hard to measure. I've had people see posts, tell me about it in person, and I then went and bought something from the company that made the post. But I've also generated more income from posts with very few likes in the past compared to those with more. It also depends on the goal. You could just want to share information to as many people as possible. Views and likes matter more there.

There isn't a single best option here. It's all relative.

LET US PICK BETWEEN ALGORITHMS

I think we all agree here

Absolutely. I just want the ability to see only those I follow in a post order I choose (newest to oldest, oldest to newest, etc). I like the idea of letting people switch between them depending upon mood. Similar to how #Amethyst has Global, etc, except applied to open algos.

agree

In addition, those 1 million likes are going to come in as many different reaction emojis providing sentiment and humor.
