They crazy part is I get people telling me all the time they don't use Linux because it's too hard or techy. It's easier than running Windows by a long shot, I usually keep a windows I stall dual booted for those times you may need it. I haven't actually ever needed to use windows in years. And every time I have booted into it, I've wanted to beat a hole in the wall with my laptop by the time I finally got to doing whatever I was doing.

Ubuntu/Debian/Mint are all so easy now, and I know other distros are super user friendly now too. Not to mention free and open source.

Your telling me!

With all the updates that brick Windows 10 or 11 and or make it slow as shit, I don't know how people put up with it. I have had this laptop for about 6 years now running Mint and I haven't gotten any problems, yet if I compare with parents newer laptop running Windows 11 I have had to fix botched updates by Microsoft 5 times in the past 1 1/2 year since it was bought and this 6 year old laptop runs circles around it on boot and doing anything.

For any specialty programs I use Lutris with an install script for convenience (has more than just games) or I google to find out what special dependencies the program might need for the WinePrefix.

Yep, gaming is really the only place I see any difficulty , and I don't game much. And hell, most modern games have figured out it makes sense to add Linux builds.
