Can someone help a boomer make sense of the follow lists at Amethyst?

There are some profiles that I'd like to keep around primarily as bookmarks but do not really care seeing their posts in my feed. A good example is nostr:nprofile1qqs0nm9kjzthrt64j2vy6n4ll9yr374raf3jm0akqpfktg7szftwvygpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumt0d5hszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qgawaehxw309ahx7um5wghxy6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skctcukcy7t that I just learned about from nostr:nprofile1qqs9pk20ctv9srrg9vr354p03v0rrgsqkpggh2u45va77zz4mu5p6ccpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgkwaehxw309a5xjum59ehx7um5wghxcctwvshszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qrxnfk

Is this what those lists are for?

Many usecases.

Top use case for me to make a private list of npubs who's notes/replies i don't want to miss.

As you u can quick toggle feed based on lists.

Another one is to make public lists of npubs to Share with others.

First of all, thanks a lot. Both for the answer and the zap ⚡

What you described is actually the opposite of what I originally had in mind but your use case makes much more sense. I'll adopt it.

Rather than trying to keep your "main" feed pruned and curated, it's easier to not worry about it. Just follow any profile you want, but keep the curated feeds in those follow lists.

I have the same sort of setup, even divided to areas of interest for example a list of the London community, a list of important profiles, a list of companies (to not miss announcements)
