Just got locked out of one of my credit cards for daring to request a balance transfer while using a VPN (which I've done many times before) and their system doesn't support sending one time codes to my virtual phone number. Now I get to wait 2 to 3 weeks for snail mail authentication. 🙄

Bank security is archaic
Banks are seriously insufferable to deal with. My wife used to be a banker, and even with inside knowledge of how the system works, it's still a pain. That's why she quit to start her own business.

Took me seven weeks to fix an issue where the bank had an incorrect address on file for my business (for 14 years) and suddenly started denying incoming wire transfers because of it.
I have to send a written , hand signed, id imaged , request to unlock my bank account, but I have to fax it !!! I literally cannot find a fax machine and can't be bothered with a software hack.
I think they're trying to tell me "you cannot unlock your acct" , without them actually saying it.

I had to call the bank to request a verification code to change my pin online. Their automated system wouldn't send me the code (apparently it's glitchy).
It's been a while since I authenticated over the phone & it was pretty intense. They wanted full name, DOB, address, recent transaction, mother's maiden name & the branch where I opened the account.
I was left with the feeling that this was all to make ushering in a govt digital ID more palatable.
The only reason I needed to call was because their online system is shit.
