The answer is not #nostr or #Bitcoin, but the people themselves.

Yes, The ppl in China, Russia, N.Korea, Iran, Syria, are the problem! They’re so primitive and backwards! And they just don’t know how good nostr is!

#nostr is just a tool… not a magic one, with a genie inside. When I was a kid, my grandfather was listening underground radios, banned by the communist regime, to know when it’s possible to take action….

You don’t say? 😳

What I wanna say it’s that the people are the ones who really need/ want to make a change… and they will find the tools! Of course, when more tools will be available easier, it will be better… but let’s not blame the tools.

I feel you. I hear you. And I’m sorry I hurt your feelings.

Why bother answering just to state whataboutisms and other irrelevant things only to pretend like they mean something? And then to top it off with responding to things that I didn’t say? So anyhoo, I am curious… are you a little bitch? No really, what the heck are you trying to prove and what about my question triggered you and these other little sissies in here that couldn’t address the question either?

The struggle for food and the risk of death are probably more important than social media.

indeed, we who have access to the internet are a privileged minority still... pretty sure that more than half the world's population still barely has internet

indeed, i recall about 6 years ago Facebook topped out at like 2 or 3 billion users, somewhere around there... it was peak facebook, and they can't grow any further, and because their racket is a variant of ponzi scheme that's why there has been so much competitors chipping at their stranglehold and why they have got so cozy with the feds to try and outlaw competition

So EVeRYONE is starving in China, Russia, N.Korea, Iran, Syri, etc. and none of them have time for nostr? Yeah that makes sense. Oh my goodness!

Your original question listed a few countries, not just China, and my response was a general one. Secondly, my statement clearly says "struggle for food" not starvation.

People are more focused on the daily necessities of life, working so they can buy food as an example. You then also discount my second point, the risks. Social consequences, jail or the death are punishments in some of these countries for being found using apps that are not sanctioned. This would also reduce their use.

While I agree with your question that Nostr would be good for oppressed peoples, I simply state my two points as reasons why it is currently not used.

My feeling is no answer will satisfy you and you're just after an argument. I'll ask you then, can you outline better reasons for its slow uptake in these nations?

Look, you made a moronic statement and I called you on it. And I would be embarrassed too, if I had said that. But now you double down and say even more nonsense - only to end with some tripe that there’s no answer I would accept. Which is more BS. In fact, you just now did touch on the truth which is that the penalties for using such tech are harsh. So..I know that deep down in your Neanderthal sub-conscious mind - you know the truth, but for some reason you just cannot handle it. Anyhow… if you think that all the people (or even the masses) in these countries are all still living in the 1940’s, then you’re a god-dammed brainwashed moron. But that doesn’t bother me because moron’s abound, but damn… do you gotta be such a sensitive cupcake too? Toughen up and you might learn sumthin’
