The problem I've found with that is, I occasionally have to turn for off (using orbot) to access something on internet, and sometimes its even a nostr thing, which means my client is talking to my relay without tor. And I'm nowhere near techy enough to fix it

yeah, that shit grinds my gears hard

I don't know what's going on there either, but I'm able to specify which apps use tor right in Orbot.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that. When I tried using it, it just killed my internet entirely. I have no idea why, but my phone refused to connect to the WiFi

Don't you just love it when tech makes no sense? Lol! I get weird problems like this all the time on my laptop. Forces me to learn the ins and outs of UNIXlike systems though, and problem solving in general.

My brain just isn't techy enough. If I find a good tutorial, I'm set, but I won't remember anything 2 days later

i think what you want is for it to use the relay for some specific set of addresses or to not use it for some specific set of addresses, idk if orbot can make that easy

it's a bit more achievable on linux

this is also partly why i'm kinda like... hmmm i think i like it that if i lost my phone and it was still unlocked and someone digs around in it they can't do shit... even the bank app won't be accessible to them without my fingerprint or teh passcode, and it can't receive my emails or nothin

would be a hassle tho

anyway, my suggestion is just don't do normie shit on the phone if you wanna do freedom shit on the phone, get a normie phone for normie shit and probably... leave it at home so you don't think of doing normie shit and getting $5 wrench attacked

That's actually my current strategy. The poppy phone gets around. The good one stays home
