if you refer to nostr paid relays, yes, you pay to allow your npub to post and fetch.

Yes i already paid and some other I prelays,and i still cant use it...and it was slow and full of bugs i think...no one even told us that changing npubs would need you to pay another 12500 sats...what if we cant afford that payment anymore?
it is obvious since to generate a invoce you must provide a npub key
Not everyone uses/speaks/communicates the same language you know...
There are technicalities with these things that must also be addresss if its goal is to be truly open-source for communication purposes...

YOU ARE RIGHT as far as I know first you need to investigate. By the way, did you pay a lot of sats ?? we can try to focus on other ways to solve this issue you have. Maybe some relay admins can help you changing your last pubkey for the new one, but I think you need to probe you are the owner of they two pubkeys
I think paid relays admins are very polite and they can help you..... Since nostr is in early stages....
Thought fetching was always free
to fetch is not the same as to read, I mean if you want to fetch exact events I think yo should pay.
