When you use the Bitcoin network, you want your Tx to propagate quickly to the entire network. On Nostr, it's similar. To guarantee reach and persistence, you want to propagate your events to as many relays as possible.

But over the past week, I saw a public figure casually post a video of animal abuse/neglect, a group of teens beat up a kid with special needs, and someone literally get shot.

But don’t say “moron.”
