There’s this idea that being a leader is some sort of a desirable position.

Being a leader is being of service to others.

It’s being willing to face the consequences of every decision.

It’s taking responsibility for everyone under your care.

It’s prioritizing others before yourself.

To die if necessary for others.

It’s not something you want to do, but something you feel compelled to do.

It’s not a top spot or perch to boss others around from.

Leadership is a sacred calling and responsibility.

Funny. My wife and I were just discussing this today and came to a similar conclusion:

If you want to lead, you are not fit to lead.

Only when you have to lead and you answer the call. That's when true leadership can happen.

Best leaders are those that don't really want the job but realize no else is able to "step up"
