Your birds are not safe in there. I built one with chicken wire and lost half of the birds in one night. Had to add half inch hardware cloth to the bottom. They liked to huddle together and sleep in the corners and something was able to reach in through the chicken wire to try to get the birds but it couldn’t fit in and they couldn’t fit out so it just tore them to pieces.

Thanks. I plan on wrapping the bottom with hardware cloth. Then the rest in chicken wire.

I learned that lesson on my chicken tractor when I woke up to a mangled chicken. I added hardware cloth soon after.

Here’s the one I built that kept my birds safe

That looks nice. Here is the tractor that I had to upgrade. That skunk behind the tractor was likely what mangled that chicken.

There are multiple spots that connect the two tractors together. I planned on reconfiguring them often, but ended up fortyfing and using deep bedding. Good thing many city folk bag their leaves for me.

That is the signature sign of raccoons. They got our last flock as well.
