The Bible and the Flat Earth: A Closer Look

There is strong evidence in the Bible that suggests the Earth is flat, enclosed by a firmament, and surrounded by water. In fact, this concept is introduced right on the very first page of the Bible — and echoed throughout its verses.

Genesis 1:2

"And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters."

My Interpretation:

Before God created the world, there was no “empty space” like modern science claims. Instead, there was only water — likely a massive ocean or endless pool. God's “workshop” was not a void but was a vast body of water.

Genesis 1:6-8

"And God said, 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.' And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament."

My Interpretation:

This tells us that everything was water — above, below, all around. God separated the waters by creating a space, which He called “sky.” But for the waters above not to fall, He built the firmament — a solid dome structure that covers the land, sealing us inside. It’s like a cosmic snow globe, or a protective dome enclosing Earth within a giant pool of water.

Genesis 1:14-16

"And God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night…' God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night."

My Interpretation:

The sun and moon are not massive physical bodies millions of miles away. They are simply lights placed in the sky — within the space between Earth and the firmament. They’re not objects you can land on. This is why I believe the moon landings were fake — the moon isn’t a place, it’s a light source.

Genesis 1:16-17

"He made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth."

My Interpretation:

The stars aren’t scattered through infinite space — they’re embedded in the firmament itself. Think of it like high-tech, unbreakable glass with decorative lights embedded inside. The stars and planets are just visual features to beautify the night sky. You can’t travel to them; they’re not destinations, they’re part of the dome.

So What About Space?

I don’t think “space” exists the way we’re told. Outside the firmament is more water — and possibly, beyond that, is the world of God.

Could we drill through the firmament, get into a submarine, and try to reach God’s realm? Technically, maybe. But God made the firmament unbreakable. I don’t think God wants us leaving. God gave us everything we need inside this enclosed world.

Why Does Science Say Otherwise?

Science, in my view, hides the existence of a Creator. They claim we came from a random explosion and live on a spinning ball surrounded by endless emptiness.

Why? Maybe they’ve been secretly trying to break through the firmament and don’t want the public — especially religious people — to catch on. If the firmament is real, then God is real. And that would change everything.

My Thoughts

I’m not a religious person. But I can’t ignore that the Bible — written long before modern science existed — describes a flat, enclosed Earth. Back then, everyone believed it was flat. The globe model came much later, and it's full of contradictions.

Once you start looking into the flat Earth theory, it starts to make sense. A lot more sense than the spinning-ball-in-space theory we’re fed from birth.

There is many other theories like crater earth, hallow earth. I'm open to all of them but flat earth with close ties to flat earth makes the most sense and the least sense is globe earth.
