One of the things I really like about Nostr is if you're having trouble with something, whether it an issue with Nostr, or something with your wallet, or node, all sorts of people respond and start helping. It's like an ad hoc tech support. This is what community is all about. We're helping each other get over the speed bumps.

Very well said.

Using the nostr protocol, you benefit when helping or just by being nice, someone may even send you some sats for the help.

On other platforms, you are incentivized to get clicks and eyeballs, which usually means being divisive.

Two completely different incentive models…

Given that there's a large number of techies from different disciplines on Nostr, I also think the instinct to resolve problems flows through most of the community. Whatever the motivations, it all comes together to create an altruistic problem-solving machine. It's really a remarkable thing to witness, and to be a part of.

So true. It still has that early and small network vibe.

This is 21 million times better than crypto!

I’ve been tryna get someone to figure out how to get a primal wallet in Canada since I started about 6 months ago…still nothin.

The Primal Wallet is backed by Strike, which has strict KYC requirements. It's likely they don't service Canada, which is causing your problem. If you're on Android, you can connect an external wallet via NWC instead of using the built-in Primal wallet. I don't believe that ability is present in the iOS version.

Except for when you have a criticism or genuine complaint, then you're usually met with what amounts to not much more than, "you're doing it wrong."

This unfortunately happens on a lot of these decentralised communities

💯

Agree, the community has really helpful vibes

THE FIRST NOSTR CLIENT TO NAME ITSELF NOSTR, WILL WIN

Seriously whenever I have an issue I get several responses just by posting. I get like 10x the engagement I was getting on X

Twitter is impersonal, and not a community. It's just a collection of bots, trolls, and disinformation agents. Here, we have real people who you get to know, and care about. It makes all the difference.

That's a perfect comparison.
