Why can"t GrapheneOS users access Fountain Premium?

Hmm... Graphene is open source, Fountain is closed source. Your call. I know what mine is regardless of what talking heads promote.

Thnx. I'm trying now (again) Podverse. It's open source, supports Lightning but has multiple annoying trackers. AntennePod is another open source podcast player, but didn't support Lightning.

I commend your desire to use a podcast player that integrates lightning! I wish to also. But I'm trying hard to stay fully open source on GrapheneOS (no google play profile yet). Yes, I occasionally still use an old iPhone, but less and less. I've grown frustrated with Fountain for its unwillingness to even address the issue of its closed source. I'd be happy with even just source viewable and a downloadable apk. I believe in trust on a personal level, but more broadly, I'm committed to verify don't trust. AntennaPod for me for now.
