My hot take on gaming with Linux:

It's all about getting the title to *run* ... everything beyond that is just icing on top 😄

Think about it, depending on the title, you spend 70% of the time getting it to run and 20% actually playing (the last 10% go to keeping it running 😄)

Am I wrong??

*though I really really wish I could get the thrustmaster hotas to work....

For me gaming has been a breeze if it has been confirmed on protondb. That said, I'm using #nobara #linux

What really sucks for me is how #multiplayer #fps usually doesn't work because of anti cheat

If it's been confirmed in the db, of course, no question about it 👌

But if it hasn't -or- the infamous 'partial' confirmation 😄 like for steamdeck, but not desktop.

Then you get into glorious eggroll and launch commands + gpu settings

Or even better, not a steam game, and has its own launcher, like Star Citizen

Or it's on steam, but the launcher kills it, so you've got to get it to launch without the launcher, like Kerbal 2...

But that's cool about nobara, haven't encountered that before. I've worked with opensuse and Mandrake (as rh), but never vanilla fedora or offshoots
