If it's been confirmed in the db, of course, no question about it ๐Ÿ‘Œ

But if it hasn't -or- the infamous 'partial' confirmation ๐Ÿ˜„ like for steamdeck, but not desktop.

Then you get into glorious eggroll and launch commands + gpu settings

Or even better, not a steam game, and has its own launcher, like Star Citizen

Or it's on steam, but the launcher kills it, so you've got to get it to launch without the launcher, like Kerbal 2...

But that's cool about nobara, haven't encountered that before. I've worked with opensuse and Mandrake (as rh), but never vanilla fedora or offshoots

My hot take on gaming with Linux:

It's all about getting the title to *run* ... everything beyond that is just icing on top ๐Ÿ˜„

Think about it, depending on the title, you spend 70% of the time getting it to run and 20% actually playing (the last 10% go to keeping it running ๐Ÿ˜„)

Am I wrong??

*though I really really wish I could get the thrustmaster hotas to work....

Spent kumukatively over 24h hours of the past week working from inside #VR

This IS the future of #WFA!!

I love the endless possibilities that are already available for use today - and the amazing talented #community that I get to spend my days with.

I did a survey on #mastodon a couple of days ago, asking what the longest you ever had a single linux distro (as a daily driver) running w/o switching, re-installing, etc.

The results surprised me - especially now, since I just did a fresh install of my laptop and really appreciate the opportunity (provided I have the time) to re-explore old apps, maybe try new ones, discover new features or changes that I had previously been oblivous to AND to install/setup certain things the 'right' way after having gained more insight and experience.

It's incredibly easy to setup a new Linux instance nowadays - and is very rewarding!!

Saw a post this morning about fads that disappeared and nobody really knows why.

One of them was about Pokรฉmon go (admitting that some people still play), but the comment below rang so true ๐Ÿ˜„

It's bin developing constantly for a while - takes a little getting used to, but if you really get into it, it's a powerhouse re: security and flexibility ๐Ÿ’š

Yea, but it's just an optional telemetry - some mainstream distros (like Ubuntu) have had it for years. I've had a machine running a variant of Ubuntu (tuxedo OS) for a while & have portmaster running in the background (from Sapian ๐Ÿ‘Œ) and have opted out - there's *nothing* being transmitted.

All the same, thanks for the heads up ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿง

Fair enough, you have anything to backup the 'no exceptions' stance?

If I recall correctly, it was mainly my own fault

I hadn't really separated myself from Google services completely yet and hadn't yet made the hard commitment to data ownership & Co. that I later had made.

Beyond that, none of the functions or processes felt particularly smooth or polished and basic tasks were more laborious.

Now that I've come along enough to meet halfway ๐Ÿ˜„it'd probably be a much better experience

Besides #threads #fediverse #bluesky

Remember that there's still #DeSo #desofy #diamond out there

Anyone else here have any experience with it?

Don't forget about #DeSo the decentralized blockchain and their Twitter alternative #diamond which is still going strong.

Their deso #token with which you can also buy creator coins from your favorite creators is also very impressive. The better the creator performs the more their creator coin is worth...

And the whole thing works via etherium wallet as your Web3 identity.

Worth checking out if you aren't familiar with it ๐Ÿ‘

It was a couple of attempts from 16h ago. Maybe an isolated incident ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'll keep an eye out & hit you up if I learn anything more ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Thnx nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z - appreciate all that you've been doing here ๐Ÿ’ฏ

It's from the duckduckgo tracker blocker (beta), runs like a VPN in the background & gives me an overview of which apps are trying to do what, if it's too much or too strange, I can decide if I really need/want the app

Otherwise, I delete it and either do without or figure some other solution.

Are you in NC??. You have a group there?

I'm in SC for the next month or so

was already ripping in Charlotte ๐Ÿš€

and the Atlanta Crew is awesome
