GM nostr, its time for my #introductions

I've been here for a while now, getting my feet under me, learning, interacting. Sometimes just talking to the void & sometimes having real, meaningful connections.

I plan to continue interacting and sharing here, on this wild and free protocol. And today I'm happy to use nostr to announce the Hook Mountain Manufacturing Company est. 926845.

It is a one man shop. It is me and I am it.

I take trees from my local ecosystem that were otherwise going to be turned to mulch or sent to the big mills upstate and beyond for veneer, flooring, etc. and I turn them into useful products for your everyday life.

I've been working with trees for many years at this point, and have been learning how to process them from log to end product. It is a slow journey, filled with trials and errors. Blood, sweat, tears. I am not formally trained, just brute forcing my way through life and production.

Part of my production process involves directing the heat generated from bitcoin mining into a wood kiln to reduce the moisture content of my lumber to a suitable range for fine wood working. When you support my business you are directly supporting the decentralization of the network. Any knowledge I gain in this area will be shared freely.

My aim is to be a nostr & bitcoin first company. I want to make quality products and trade them for hard money. My goal with this company is to produce enough value for the world to afford me and my eventual family a comfortable life filled with travel, learning, and connection.

For now I am accepting bitcoin and fiat - not out of choice but necessity. When my bitcoin market gets big enough I will drop the fiat and never look back.

Shakespeare works as good if not better than Lovable, Replit, etc​ except it's open source and made by one guy, versus​ billion dollar companies with hundreds of employees. It requires no infrastructure because it works entirely on your device, so it scales infinitely for free.​ It does not seem like it should be possible. It's gotten basically no mainstream attention, and people are biased against it, believing it cannot be better than the crapware Big AI bubble software. But I'm here to tell you that it's not that hard.​

One of the greatest productivity boosts I've discovered has been having my AI interview me about how to improve any complex workflow.

It looks like this:

SETUP: Give AI your objective ("improve my production process"), AI generates interview questions based on workflow stages

METHOD: Structured voice interview where AI asks questions sequentially through your entire workflow (you respond via voice transcription for speed)

1. Walk through the process chronologically, one question at a time

2. Capture time spent, tools used, and what's frustrating/manual

3. Identify gaps: what you have vs. what you actually use

4. Note where you're "winging it" or working from memory

5. Synthesize into ranked opportunities: biggest time sinks = highest ROI

RESULT: Prioritized automation roadmap with projected savings.

NEXT STEP: Pick highest-impact opportunity from roadmap and have AI build the template/workflow/automation immediately (e.g., "create the outreach email templates" or "build the social copy factory for this transcript").

1 year ago this week I partook in a 5 day Big Breathwork retreat in the beautiful Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.

I arrived as a lost observer who had no idea how to find presence or work through any stress.

The trip contained incredible people, food, yoga, and 4+ hours of breathwork a day.

And yes, it was work.

I alchemized this experience with a new perspective, a new sense of courage, and a new fire.

My Nostr predictions for 2025

Exactly one year ago I published my Nostr predictions for 2024. Some came true, but most were, shall we say, aspirational, and, if we want to be generous, directionally correct. Happy to continue in the same vein and go out on a limb for 2025. Here we go, ordered by likelihood of coming true:

1. Primal will become much, MUCH better. Primal 3.0 will be a bigger leap forward than Primal 2.0 was. We will surprise everyone by the features, speed, level of polish, and ease of use.

2. Many other Nostr clients will impress by their progress in a relatively short time frame. If I had to pick one, I have a really good feeling about Highlighter.

3. Way more bitcoiners will join Nostr. While we currently only have a small subset of bitcoin enjoyers on Nostr, the new features and unique content will make Nostr irresistible to anyone interested in bitcoin.

4. Bitcoin-adjacent communities will start to discover and join Nostr. This will include health & wellness, financial twitter, human rights, libertarians, and other communities. As a result, the network will grow and become more formidable.

5. Spammers gonna spam. With the growth of the network, spammers will return in force. They will be sophisticated and relentless, putting all of our spam mitigation services to the test.

6. The Blossom protocol will make media hosting on Nostr much more robust and resistant to censorship.

7. Long form content will start to hit its stride on Nostr. This includes textual long form content (blogs, essays, articles, etc.) as well as long form video content.

8. Multiple Nostr projects will find effective and ethical ways to monetize, marking a watershed moment for the protocol. We will witness the formation of the first cohort of real businesses on Nostr, signaling the inevitable changing of the guard and the eventual extinction of the Legacy Web.

9. Nostr will experience a glimpse of what a ‘suddenly’ mainstream adoption moment looks like.

10. By the end of the year, everyone - even the haters - will realize that Nostr is going to win.

One thing is certain: we will keep pushing until we will this thing into existence. 🤝
