Something similar was one of the best lessons I’ve ever received from a Physics teacher, because I stil remember it clearly:
You pour a small glass (“culín”) of cider that weights 100 grams, that is one Newton.
When you bring to the mouth to drink it, you lift one Newton one meter.
One Newton per one meter equals one Joule of work.
If you do a work of a Joule in one second, you generate one Watt.
