Hard to know how it evolves. But AI and robotics play a key part here. Work defines most humans and if work is replaced by AI and robotics we will see massive changes.

Some use the computer analogy and say that computers were going to take all jobs in the 70's and 80's. Not the same. Computers needed humans to work in the 70's and 80's. AI collectively is probably already more intelligent than humanity collectively. Not sure tho on that last point.

So, do you think Universal Basic Income is more likely advocated for because of deflationary tech improvements?

My take on that is that if you walk into any government office and see the amount of productivity you would have to argue UBI is already here. 😀

Ugh I hate the nationalists that promote "Universal" Basic Income. What part of it is Universal it applies to people living in one country or region. Anyone promoting UBI or anything as "a bAsIc hUmAn RIgHt" should actually be willing to extend those things to all of humanity not just the people around them.

Right. It doesn’t work for other countries and regions. Also, the biggest problem is that it just doesn’t work. Who’s funding it?
