I have to figure out how to capture the routing fees of zaps going around. Margins with zaps are higher if you charge a base fee so it’s a good opportunity.

Unfortunately setting a base fee makes it much more difficult to calculate the most efficient path thru the network.

Probably saw it elsewhere, but this seems a good description, "If you want to pay someone your node needs to find other nodes which help you by having enough money in their channels. Your node does a lot of computations to help you achieve your goal. If the basefee is 0 it is computationally much easier to find the provable optimal solution"

I'm thinking that most zaps happen within or between custodial wallets. That said, I've been routing many more smaller transactions since the beginning of the year.
