I just published a guide on posting long-form posts to Nostr via Obsidian. The post was composed, formatted and published without ever touching any Nostr-native blogging platform.

This is possible thanks to the "Nostr Writer" plugin by nostr:npub10a8kw2hsevhfycl4yhtg7vzrcpwpu7s6med27juf4lzqpsvy270qrh8zkw

Check it out to discover the benefits of utilizing Obsidian to interact with Nostr:

Just curious, why Obsidian?

ok, reading now, lol

I enjoy the tool in general. Very helpful for organizing thoughts, notes, composing articles. I find the ability to publish to Nostr very handy.

Plus, Obsidian has a strong community, so this guide is also my attempt to introduce them to Nostr.

Fantastic use of Nostr!!

This plugin doesn't support your device, 🤙, less spam

😄

Mobile?

Yes

I guess James figured that not too many people compose long-form posts on mobile devices.

Of course, i used to Copy the bookmark on that, working good

me: waiting the same plugin for Logseq

Hi nostr:npub10awzknjg5r5lajnr53438ndcyjylgqsrnrtq5grs495v42qc6awsj45ys7! I'm also a big fan of both Nostr and Obsidian so I'm just curious if Mermaid is supported? I'm using Mermaid in Obsidian a lot. Thanks in advance!

This depends on the version of markdown the blogging platform supports. I doubt they do, but you could just try drafting a new article and paste a mermaid diagram to double check if it works in a preview.

I forgot to mention there is a “Published View” also - which shows long-form notes that you have published from your Obsidian vault.

I did include this in the article, but now I feel I should emphasize here. Will update tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up
