1. Finished swatching the last red tubes of watercolor.

2. Then played around on some leftover strips of paper. Not sure what kind, probably Canson Mixed Media 160g as it’s thinner than the 300g I’m using for the swatches.

The strip at the top was the first, down to the bottom strip as the last.

Didn’t like any of them until strips 7-8, where I had an idea of how to use them beyond this session.

The last 2 strips were playing with light washes and trees and people.

So yeah, creating art is also all the crap you make on the way to something you actually like. 👍

I’ve grown up painting watercolors and I’ve never done that. It looks very calming, but also very precise.

I enjoyed it; just have to let go of wanting to be able to get that exact color again later because it is more relaxing to just mix and swatch instead of trying to write down and keep track of how I got to a color.
