idk bout that. A base level of strength is definitely needed but quickly acheivable.

After that, putting a bunch of pressure on joints just to move iron isn't that advisable. At that point hypertrophy and flexibility are more important goals.

That's just my humble opinion.

Agreed. Reread my note: I'm talking about fixating on hypertrophhy; muscle for the vanity as opposed to function. Folks that establish good strength *should* graduate to hypertrophy, endurance, grappling, striking, etc.
