And it will still be worth it.

I call each zap two pizzas. It makes me feel better.

extra cheese 🧀

That’s the 25 sat zaps.

😂 insane that this is true!

the entire network’s electricity bill for less than a zap

It's not true. Creating sats does not require energy. Energy use is a byproduct of interest and fair distribution, not creation.

It’s double not true because the miners will also receive fees. Hopefully there is a method of increasing those fees without a substantial increase in individual user fees.

Damn, thank you, I remember reading this! And clear forgot! 🤦‍♀️Ok, back to it to re-learn, re-member.

nostr note 42 sats

block reward in 100 years 9 sats

philosophy is fun but the amount of energy to actually obtain that reward size -in reality- is going to be magnitudes greater than the energy to shit post today

It's not philosophy, it's fact. Did you read the article? Issuance is independent from energy consumption.

Yep. Difficulty adjustment goes both ways.

i did. i am not arguing that there is a necessary amount of energy or if that is a good or bad thing as your article points out.

i am articulating that there is clearly an outsized opportunity to obtain the same amount of sats via a note on nostr today vs the real life cost of mining a block reward in 100 years
