The forward by Alex was great. The rest was so full of academic speak that it was like getting teeth pulled.

There is nothing in that book that reads like anything in academia. It is the antithesis of academia.
Weird. OK, maybe a bad take since I've never attended college - but I've read nearly a dozen Bitcoin related book and this was the only one that was so torturous to digest that I gave up at chapter 8 - and can't recall anything beyond the forward. ... but hey, whatever, I'm a degenerate.
It’s a very challenging read. I agree with you. It takes an extra level or two of comprehension than a standard book. It requires extra work on the reader’s part to fully take in. That work is well worth it though.
