The difference I see are principles and structure that require actual sacrifice at times.

That seems fair
The similarity i see is that it’s all made up 😂
I only partially agree. The colour red is made up, but it’s still useful to humans to have a word for it and it’s important to us.
Colors are real, they are light within certain frequency ranges in the visible spectrum. The names different cultures give to different colors are anecdotal. They are still a physical measurable phenomenon.
Spirits, ghosts, gods, "energy" and all that stuff aren't real.
This is where things discussions tend to get complicated, heated even 😅
Words and ideas can be picked apart. People start talking over each other. Both sides walk away angrier and still believing whatever they did in the first place
Not really that difficult. Show me the measurement.
prescient
Yes.
Thought & expression both involve the manipulation of symbols.
It's fraught with ambiguity & interpretation.
To point this out raises doubt in the player's mind around their concept of fact & truth. It can be unsettling for them.
That only affects people's ability to convey the information. It doesn't change the fact that you can measure light because it exists, and you can't measure a soul because it doesn't.
You can only measure what you can perceive.
Can a blind man perceive light?
Can a scared man perceive his soul?
Yes. The blind man can feel the heat of light on his skin - it's radiation coming from a star across 150 M km of empty space. It exists.
No. A scared man cannot perceive his soul because it isn't there. He will perceive several chemical signals produced by his brain and other organs as a response to whatever is making him scared. Because the chemicals are real, and so is his body.
I'm so sorry they teased you & convinced you that it was just your imagination.
I'm so sorry they stole this from you.
Colours are not real. Electromagnetic wavelengths are real (unless you are in a simulation), but your experience of them is entirely in your head.
You could be seeing blue, but you were taught we say red. Those who suffer from synasthesia will see numbers or sound but still call it red.
It’s all made up, it’s in your head. You’re imagining things and yet want me to respect your made up world and how scientific you are.
Metalinguistic mumbojumbo, as expected.
It’s all science, each term could be Googled in seconds. But you don’t want to know, because you are only playing at being rational.
You're discussing terminology because that's your "winning argument" for mysticism -- you already said it earlier, it's just "useful words". I simply refuse to give it any validity by playing such infantile game.
The fact remains that there are no ghosts, spirits, souls, gods or any other supernatural phenomena.
How are you not aware that colour is generated in the brain? You realise you’re acting like nocoiners do when presented bitcoin? Triggered.
I.e. You have a hyper focus on there being no God/Spirits etc, to the point that you’re destroying basic scientific facts on how we process information.
It’s derangement, even your insults are the same as nocoiners, calling anything outside your comfort zone infantile. A complete death of meaningful conversation.
