would monero people actually be okay with a hot wallet integrated into a client? thats what the Garnet (Amethyst clone) did. Can't tell if I'm just being autistic or not. As an Android app i feel less schizo about it but it still feels wrong and especially wrong as a web client.

yes as an XMR utilitarian and BTC maximalist I don’t care about the XMR coming into a hot wallet, I am moving it to Bitcoin as fast as possible anyways just like most everyone else that uses XMR
though it would be nice to be configurable. I would prefer something like this to be able to feed it the view key for one of the wallets on my Ledger. But a hot wallet doesn’t bother me, we’re not talking about losing the farm on a day’s worth of XMR for shitposts
The risk of the individual is easily manageable if it's a hot wallet. A software exploit could tackle many people at the same time some not knowing about it.
Maybe it can be optional for small sums and some configurable automatic mode for bigger sums?
I'm still mulling it over I guess but despite other peoples feedback and me asking the question publicly, it isn't swaying my conscience from my initial instinct. At the end of the day I have to like what I'm building and I must appease my autism before the unwashed masses.
I think its simpler and easier to maintain if you didn't have hot wallet integration imo. I think that was one of the difficulties Garnet had.
Just have a QR code of the address pop up when you tip someone and we can use a separate hot wallet to pay. Or have both and give the user the ability to choose.
