I shared the same thoughts here months ago, there has been little engagement or interaction.

Despite having over 1.5k followers, every time I enter here, it feels like a ghost town. It seems that only nerds interact with nerds. Developers talk about inclusion, but it feels the opposite.

And don’t get me wrong, I support 100% Nostr & the cause. However, there needs to be a different approach, or this will only stay as the place for bitcoiners, developers, and their family and friends only…

Tbe problem tgat ppl do not realize is that here there is no algorithm pushing your note nostr is literally proof of work. Here on nostr if you are just a ninja lurking nostr will be boring. Engagement goes both ways its like a 2 way street. Start commenting on note that move you note things you wanna see.

Yep, it’s a massive echo chamber at the moment and I think most people on here are oblivious to that, I love #Bitcoin , #Nostr and freedom tech but sometimes I’m just screaming out to see something different.😂

post something different? then others will engage and maybe they post something?

it's not a theatre show it's a social network. kinda funny how the mainstream social networks make you think it's a show just for you.

i personally am not interested in posting photos or videos or doing any of that kind of stuff. philosophy, religion, cryptography, memes, game theory, programming, tech tribalism, the odd bit of economics and geopolitics.

That’s what I try to do to be honest, post different shit haha, I’m just stating the obvious, I go on my timeline and global and it’s completely filled with #Bitcoin #Bitcoin #Bitcoin , that’s partly why I love seeing art, music and other bits and bobs on here, because it’s a step in the right direction towards making it more appealing to the masses, as annoying as it may seem I think for #Nostr to fully explode it needs to get out of this confinement and echo chamber, I’m not saying people should stop posting what they’re passionate about I just think people should add a bit of variety and depth in what they post.

i think that the filtering tools on clients need to improve, as does relay filtering performance.

imho there isn't enough thought going on about scaling. this isn't bitcoin, this is a pubsub protocol. we have any number of options for improving message propagation and filtering performance.

I find greater sanity through Bitcoin. However, both my peers and strangers believe I've lost it--fairly so.

What environment/user options/etc would improve this?

The user base is pretty narrow now but that should grow as options grow. But developers/companies should keep in mind what non dev/nerd/bitcoin/privacy fans, will appreciate and be drawn to.

Full disclosure that I’m not going to be able to help make these changes happen myself, but it’s a good and valuable topic to engage.

Nostr is also the place of artists, here my art has been appreciated more than on all the social networks combined.

Of course there are many bitcoiners and developers but it is also only one year that Nostr lives...
