As well as having been a teacher 23 years (quit in 2000), I'm also a trained librarian (before 2000 too). Yep, I'd use microfiche reader for retrieving book info to type up (on a manual typewriter) the cards for library catalogues (in those long drawers) which visitors would use to search for books (using Dewey system). ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿงก

I got to visit sections in state libraries that general public could not enter. Amazing collections of old books we could only handle with gloves. This librarian Ireland would be heaven to visit. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿงก

My mother was a librarian in my childhood years. After school: go to the library until mom was done working. Amazing place for a curious kid to spend hours each day. Card catalogs, Dewey decimal, i hear you!
