iOS. The app itself wasn’t asking for the permission, it was games within the app, that were. The other walk for bitcoin app, however, did require location to be set to always. Only one app on my phone has that permission, the weather.😁

First of as an ios user you already handed over your privacy you got no control on your permissions at all
Sec you blaming 3 party apps that they promote not the working themselves
Third it uses apple fitness data to track steps & location to make sure the data isn't spoofed
