This is an excellent initiative if done correctly. Finding the "correct" price is a shared responsibility. Bitcoin has hundreds of reasons to exist. One is that it enables low-cost payments. "Send a sat, receive a sat." or "You can send money for virtually zero fees."
Of course, you can only send money if you know how and to whom. Enter nostr, problem solved. The nostr protocol has become the essential missing component to forming a community and exchanging payment addresses. And Damus is the most performant human front-end, IMHO.
With the feature proposed in the above picture, I still need to figure out the correct setting. I'd like to see Damus and Will prosper. However, should it take 18%, we will have failed because those are Western Union-style fees. Ideally, the slider should guide with an upper bound below the level of the legacy financial system. On top of that, there could be a link to a donation page.
