another PSA:

I think only the NSA knows this, but I have recorded probably like over a hundred hours of audio notes. I used to like writing but it takes too long and my hand cramps badly after two pages. someday I might put some on the internet or compile into an audio book. it's a great form of self-therapy, especially if you have the tendency to "go mute" like I do when I'm stressed or depressed because I can talk things out without being interrupted, and it's far more honest than when I'm writing in a journal.

plus, I'm an introvert and I don't like talking to people all that much unless I really like them, and it's great practice for public speaking in case I'm ever in the unfortunate position where this is expected of me.

the only problem is that people might think you are schizo for talking to yourself but that's basically what everyone who posts selfie videos on TikTok does, except you don't have to post anything for attention – it's just for your own records.

imo, the best time to do it is when you wake up cause that's when all your thoughts are fresh.

highly recommend!

Do you ever reflect on past notes? I've never created audio notes, but curious about it.

I don't go back and listen to them but I think every new one is a reflection of the past ones in a way. over time, the mental process of speaking rather than writing has taught me how to continuously find new ways to reflect on whatever is relevant at the moment.

feels like a weird thing to do at first but you get used to it and might be surprised at all the things you've wanted to say but never did.

Very interesting... I have little chats with myself all the time, but have never recorded it. I like writing and reflecting... this may be another option to try... thank you for the insights!

no problem, highly recommend! 😊
