I think most of us grow here. Those who don’t, perhaps there is still a tiny imprint of goodness on their psyche.
So when they get to be eighty years old and look back on their early career as a basement troll, they might think “man, I was an asshat. I should make sure I treat people better than I did back then”
I think it’s a place for them to hide, devolve into a worst human being, and never hit rock bottom in the real world, so that they are forced to work on themselves and be a fucking nice human being.

If you’re a dickhead irl I don’t think social media is going to cure you from being a dickhead, no matter how “nice” the majority of the people are on the platform you use…..I wish I were wrong.
