THIS FEATURE IS IMPOSSIBLE IN TWITTER, BLUESKY, FACEBOOK, MASTODON…

MAGICAL, EFFORTLESS, PERMISSIONLESS INTEROPERABILITY

Such bullshit to compare X with Facebook. X is the most important social network

Is it though?

Nostr be like, shut up, hans

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard from you.

Most of my boomer colleges at work probably even don't know Twitter exists, They are stuck with FB because it does the job for them.

This is possible under Musk and on X. It was NOT possible or even thinkable during the spineless Jack Dorsey. And it is still not possible on other platforms

You got me wrong - I related to your claim that X is "the most important social network". There is FB, there is VK, there is WeChat, Sina Weibu, tiktok, Instagram, discord and so on.

A lot of my (older) colleagues never ever used Twitter, they only use FB for example. That "Twitter thing" seems like an unnecessary redundancy to them, the same way a sane person older than 25 would never use Instagram for example.

My Eastern colleges all use VK and telegram (and not just since the war in Ukro, they literally don't know about Twitter because nobody of their friends is there)

exactly what I had in mind! Looks great! Maybe we can provide a few variation styles too just to keep it diverse a bit.

This is great!

Slight style variation

might have to change open to "get it" haha

This is cool 👀

Looks good! I will try to get this working in the next update. One thing I also want to show eventually in the suggestions is “used by” with maybe 1-3 mini profile pics of people you follow, but I’m not sure if this data is available yet, might need more clients to support adding recommended apps, right now I only know of https://nostrapp.link that has this functionality.

Ok, I'll add a variation of this as well.

Yes, kind:31989s is what you want to REQ for

I'm a bit confused, I just tried this with only your pubkey, you have 2 events but they only have a “d” and a “p” tag?

It's nice!

The visualization should take in consideration the average/max number of apps, but we cannot know how many there will be. I would show the first 4 (by usage, WoT, etc,) and then let the user explore the others with a horizontal carousel.

Interoperability is required for nostr victory.

What I struggle with is the experience of 10 different kinds requiring 10 AppStore app downloads and installs.

I’m not making the case for nostr-wechat (I think).

Without being an engineer or a designer, it seems that one/few apps + tens of PWAs is the only sustainable solution to NIP-89 and interoperability.

How wrong is this nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft

Why do you struggle with this? What's the problem you see with this?

There will only be more kinds and more people embedding these kinds in other kinds. Applications will cluster around certain use cases, and thus kinds, and for 80% of the content users can stay in the app. But of all apps will have the occasional kind they don't support.

Yes, agree on more and more kinds.

This is the pretext to my thought and question: what is the resistance/how likely is someone to install an app based on a recommendation from another app?

I see a risk of user drop off here.

Installation of an app seems a big ask.

Thus my question if PWAs might interoperate more easily in a many kind world.

This is where Nostr is sooooo beautiful to me.

If your social graph doesn't think it's worth it to install an app for this, then mostly PWA's will be shown as suggestions.

If however, the number one app suggested is, let's say, and Android Reading app and I see that my Reading group friends all use this. I'm going to be veeeery incentivised to check it out.

Love this view. Social incentives built in as a motivator.

Maybe it’s a non-problem, or perhaps an apportunity, as you suggest. Thanks for sharing 💪

Very nice
