If I was a wizard, I’d want 3 core spells that never fail: invisibility (myself/others/objects), telekinesis (ability to move myself/others/objects without physical contact), illusions (visual and auditory).

Yes, powerful, both individually and in combination - invisible flying objects can be very useful. If I was a wizard, I’d study and practice my ass off to be as powerful as possible. You didn’t specify any parameters or rules, therefore it’s not a cheat code. And I specified only three spells, not something opened ended as a type of magic.
