If you're going to sour someone's good intentions, the least you could do is be accurate. There is no country name "America".

Even The Articles of Confederation uses "United States of America", and that was before it incorporated.

If you want to piss off the rah rah crowd and get technical, it's a federation of states (the states are the countries) 😂

I know that you have often heard and read THE United States, when, as you know, it technically should be THESE United States.

But on further reflection, THE United States does work, so long as you keep the verb plural...

Not really, it's seen as a synonym for country.

Texas is a country, Florida is a country, etc. etc.

But as you know those with an agenda have tried to obscure that by simply never referring to it that way.
