Was entertaining and terrifying at the same time.
As someone who has ran the socioeconomic gamut (from the bottom to middle, not too). Some of this stuff hits home.
I loved that it was based on New York (makes sense) as I pretty much knew every reference in Brooklyn.
It's always interesting to read a book that hits close to home on a personal level. Glad you enjoyed reading The Mandibles and got a glimpse of the potential terrifying realities of our economic future. As for New York references, it's great when you can read something and understand all the cultural nuances as it makes you feel part of the story in some way.
