Damus will be removed from the app store in 14 days, apple says zaps are not allowed on their platform because they *could* be used by content creators to sell digital content. This is right before I’m about to give my talk at the oslo freedom forum on how decentralized social networks with lightning integration are bringing financial freedom to the masses... pretty sus… 😕

This would be a watershed moment: If people can’t transact freely p2p on their platform, this has huge implications for the entire ecosystem of apps with lightning integration and v4v.

If I had an iOS device, I would be really disapointed by this.

You all should complain to Apple somehow, check if they can revert this situation. It makes no sense whatsoever, people can coordinate sales/payments via ANY SOCIAL OR MESSAGING APP anyway. Just because you joined wallet app with social app, it doesn't change the fact that people could just use the social app anyway to coordinate p2p payments

Sorry to hear this Will. I wonder if this will also affect Telegram? I assume iOS doesn't have an apk equivalent thing (I don't know anything about this), so you could have an official zapless on appstore and a fork made by NotWill with zaps? I don't know, sorry I'm sure you have thought and are thinking of solutions:/

Trying to think of any positives to come out of this? Would this be picked up by tech press? Would this be of interest to Elon Musk what with his plans for twitter?
