I don’t know who needs to hear this, but loathing someone you’ve never met in real life and only know via media is also a parasocial relationship.

I really do think this negative-parasocial relationship was normalized by reality TV where people were “voted off the island” who were unpopular - so it became very common to openly judge and critically comment on these people that we have never met. When you stop to think about it, it’s kinda weird. Lol.

Anyway, the moral of the story is: don’t let someone you’ve never met IRL live rent free in your head. 🤙
