Seriously? I thought they allowed withdrawals.

All you’re buying then is a number on a screen. Lame.

PayPal is trash anyway. They still can’t discern between someone’s phone number and a family plan. I’m still locked out of my long dormant account. I don’t plan to reactivate.

I’m not PayPal customer so idk! But according to the comments below it seems like you can’t withdraw (no such option)

I am and they don’t allow withdrawals. I just keep some to spread my holdings to decrease my risk of losing if hacked. PayPal has vast merchant base and them allowing btc is a good thing. You can actually spend it if needed - the one use case btc was meant for.

I’m ignorant of how it works.

When you spend btc does it just convert it to the spot price to your currency?

Fair point on spending it however it would be nice if they let you choose.

There are provably better custodial solutions however one thing I learned in life is not to tell people how to handle their money.

Oh, I wouldn’t recommend such model ! You are increasing your risks ! Better learn how to self custody in a proper way ! Single sig + passphrase and the multisig with different HWW vendors and locations where you store them (separately)

Not your keys not your bitcoin

Can’t argue with that.

PayPal has withdrawals… the 2 arrows button allows you to send to external address. I don’t endorse buying with PayPal, but they do have withdrawal functionality.

Is there some additional KYC you have to do or maybe some jurisdictional restriction PayPal could be doing. Maybe some users have it and others don’t based on additional actions needed on the users part?

It’s been a while… I wouldn’t have done anything more than any other exchange…

Yeah I was asking more to anyone who said they didn’t have withdrawal. Either 1) they didn’t see the option 2) account is restricted for ${reason}
