Good morning, Nostr fam!

I wanted to share some recent photographs from a photo walk I took in NYC with a friend last weekend. I’m shooting with a Leica M262.

I’m curious to see how photography translates on this platform and would love to get some feedback—anything to help me improve what works and refine what doesn’t. I am posting this from Primal btw. I wish there was a way to bulk select and upload.

I’m also hoping to connect with other photographers in the New Jersey/NYC area, so if you’re nearby, let’s link!!

Oh NYC is full of the unexpected. It’s a great place for photography, but I wouldn’t live there. More of a get in get out place for me!

On Primal web, it lets me click the zap sign and doesn't show any bug but the zap does not ask for confirmation and does not register.

On noStrudel, the zap sign is unclickable.

Interesting. I have not used primal web yet; using it now on mobile.

I’ve never used nostrudel. What do you recommend for me to resolve the issue? I appreciate the help this is all very new terrain for me

I've also tried to zap your profile instead of the note from Primal, noStrudel and Damus and it doesn't work. I imagine there's something wrong in your config with colincz@strike.me. Damus says 'invalid lightning address'.

It's weird though since I can see the note has been successfully zapped by someone else. I'm not a strike user, idk what are the config requirements.

Hmm strange. Should I configure a new lightning wallet? Which would you recommend?

I've been using Alby since day one. It's pretty handy given that it's managed from the same web extension that manages your keys.

I've also used walletofsatoshi at times and it was working fine.

I looked at using alby, but I think there is a waiting list or I need an invite code. Do you have one? Are you using desktop or mobile more?

oh, that's bc they're discontinuing the system they had since when zaps started and are now implementing Alby Hub, which actually gives them a business model to live on. I've not made the switch yet and don't have invites.

Maybe check your strike lightning address to see if there's anything obviously wrong bc I think it should work. Otherwise maybe walletofsatoshi is the easiest solution.

When I link a new lightning address, do I need to do this for every client? I have it for primal. Zaps have been coming through. Someone else was saying that the option is greyed out to zap on strudel

Hi there and welcome! Great set of NYC side streets. It has been a while that I made my way to the city (I'm in NJ), am a little adverse to crowds and have to be in the mood.

Good to see another dedicated photographer on nostr. I haven't shared many, if any, on here because most chatter is (unfortunately) about bitcoin. It's the nature of the beast, I guess...

In regards to the zap, that is strange. I have not used nostrudel before I am using primal and have my strike account linked. Can you try it there? What should I do to fix that?

Love noStrudel! It's the Jack of all trades for nostr for me. I think I succeeded to zap you from Snort. So this is really weird.

So I dug a bit deeper and found that nostrudel is only able to link alby and a few other lightning networks. Do you have an alby invite you could share? Also, curious what you think of using nostrplebs for your domain. It’s all new to me so I appreciate the insight.

On nostrplebs - I'm honestly quite 'emotionless' I got it because I wanted their relay but I only did this very recently. Until then I only had Alby.

BTW not sure if you're into gaming but I saw you have Youtube. I'm currently watching a gaming stream on Nostr with nostr:npub1de6l09erjl9r990q7n9ql0rwh8x8n059ht7a267n0q3qe28wua8q20q0sd and he is ALWAYS very, very helpful ref. nostr questions.

this will depend on the client. looks pretty good here on NoStrudel. i know Coracle displays compressed images in timeline for example, which is one of the reasons i don't use it, but of course it will still display full image if you click on it. but i prefer not being shown the ugly version before i can see the pretty one.

Now I have heard from a couple of people that my lightning wallet for zaps are not working from nostrudel. Can you confirm? Could you please recommend a course of action to correct the error? I have been receiving zaps into the strike account otherwise

i never set up my wallet, so can't help you there, sorry.

NOSTR protocol can potentially support many applications and transferring money is an application i am not interested in personally.

Nice shots! Personally I find street photography very difficult

Great sense of color and lines! Guy on the ladder and the blue wall/paint are favs. Actually I want to see those two together. Nice work 🤙

Bulk upload in clients would be awesome- I’d also love to see a better way to present images specifically on nostr rather than the default carousel, some kind of simple layout or gallery view for images would be awesome

Seeing it on noStrudel has a bit better of a grid layout than Primal. Btw, are you able to see if my zap feature is available to you on noStrudel? I'm having issues with linking the lightning payment there for some reason. Seems to work fine on Primal

Nope, unable to zap you from Damus or Nostrudel! The error I see is ‘Invalid lightning address’

The grid layout does look much nicer on nostrudel! I wish there was some kind of layout standards between clients.

Thats really strange. I have the strike account setup on Primal. Why do you think it's not being able to go through on those clients? Trying to figure that out!
