my whole life everybody around me from parents to siblings to teachers to friends to government and on and on tried to shame and manipulate me into acting against my own interests

until at some point i had the eureka moment and realized that there is a simple solution to ALL of my problems - stop associating with people

ironically it was actually listening to a youtube lecture on the Koran by an Imam that made me realize this

in Koran there is a story used to explain that you can never please people - that they will always find something to bitch about - and it is absolutely true. the conclusion in the Koran was that you should just focus on serving G-d and ignore what people say completely.
