Cable management porn always starts with a desk that doesn't even really need it. Come try that on my desk.

26 port switch

2 desktops

2 laptops

4 raspberry pis

2 monitors

1 KVM

1 wifi AP

Then add #hamradio gear

3 HTs with their charging cradles

1 VU mobile

1 12v power supply

1 HF radio

1 HF amp

1 6 port DC PDU

1 Fan to cool the HF radio

Don't forget that the mobile and HF require antenna feeds in addition to power, mic, and data connections.

Once you are done with cable management please help me figure out how to organize all tools, dongles, adapters, mics, usb security keys, VNA, multimeter and other crap I can't see hiding underneath all of the things I just listed.

This is both my nightmare & the great white whale that beckons me.

It is a full 8x4 desk with a standing platform on one side that stays up full time so things can live under it. I need more space.

And zip ties. So many zip ties

I prefer the velcro cable ties, reusable.

I went to harbor freight on Black Friday and bought tons of zip ties. So I have a lot 🤣

Powerpoles? I’ll take that challenge

All the cradles, radios, amp, and HF cooling fan are powered off a west mountain powerpole PDU. All power from the PDU, nothing to the power supply directly.

Definitely worth the work and cost to do that. Reminds me that I'm running low on 30a and 45a powerpole spoons.

By the way. Glue inside 3:1 heat shrink makes great strain relief for powerpoles.
