Has anyone been looking for software jobs in the US lately? I have a friend who's searching and has sent out 60+ applications with little response, and says most postings are for 7+ years of experience.

i think probably a lot of positions are being filled via social network connections instead of job classified sites like linkedin

I think that's always been true, to some degree. People are gonna look to connections and recommendations first.

i think these days with how shit linkedin has become it's probably accelerating away to social networks
