Possible, but I think pirate relays would pop up faster than they could police and from outside their control.
And the government sucks at IT.

Mmm not to my knowledge. Relays have terms of use but no actual moderation capabilities.
Exactly. Reject nip 69. Let the relays clients and users figure out what works best. Communities will surface where they make the cost of posting spam and offensive content high enough that it will go elsewhere. Each relay is it's own entity. it's a protocol not a cop.
Im happy with moderation being done at the client level OR a middleware. You want moderation, download Mickey Mouse Nostr client or connect to Mickey Mouse relay. Don’t force your moderation on other people thx!
