I agree with you. When I think back, my on chain footprint used to be higher- getting sub-$50k BTC, building up a bit and moving to cold storage primarily. But now, I have way more BTC interactions- DCA, zaps, paying in BTC when I can. But I have far fewer on chain transactions. If the BTC price moves up 2x or 10x or 100x, I’d personally have WAY fewer on chain moves the higher it goes. Just thinking through it and not sure how to reconcile, other than paying for things on chain just because it’s cheap now, even though Lightning might be a better option.

Genuinely open to ideas on this. What do you think about it?

Spending bitcoin does not have to be on chain IMO, in small transactions we have layer 2. Any bitcoin transaction between two parties helps bitcoin as MoE. We have to aim creating circular economy around us to buy good and services without requiring the permission of some authority figure.
